A Remodeled Second Home in the Southwest

The Southwest inspired fireplace is the focal point for the TV-conversation grouping.  Warm Mexican colors and a variety of rich texture provide for that “welcome home” feeling.

Second Home Challenge:

A second home and a good investment often require remodeling.  The clients requested an updated large space for the activities of living in the Southwest - entertaining, cooking, dining, reading, watching TV, and quiet conversation.

Solution:

Walls were removed and reconfigured.  Ceiling heights were raised leaving curved soffits to define the dining and kitchen areas.  New doors on existing cabinets, new appliances, granite countertops, a new island, and lighting combines with chili-colored paint to update the kitchen.  Good traffic flow encourages interaction between the activity areas.

The Southwest inspired fireplace is the focal point for the TV-conversation grouping and warm Mexican colors, new lighting, niches, and area rugs define space.  Leather, fabric, metals and stone provide a rich texture for that special welcome home feeling.
