Creating a Space for Quiet Reading

Creating a Space for Quiet Reading

A comfortable leather chair and ottoman, a throw, good reading light, art on the wall and in the rug...bring your book and enjoy!

Second Home Challenge:

A second home and a good investment often require remodeling.  The clients requested an updated large space for the activities of living in the Southwest - entertaining, cooking, dining, reading, watching TV, and quiet conversation.

Solution:

Walls were removed and reconfigured.  Ceiling heights were raised leaving curved soffits to define the dining and kitchen areas.  New doors on existing cabinets, new appliances, granite countertops, a new island, and lighting combines with chili-colored paint to update the kitchen.  Good traffic flow encourages interaction between the activity areas.

The Southwest inspired fireplace is the focal point for the TV-conversation grouping and warm Mexican colors, new lighting, niches, and area rugs define space.  Leather, fabric, metals and stone provide a rich texture for that special welcome home feeling.

What they're saying

We are very pleased to have you help us with our design projects. You feed me with just enough ideas, materials and opinions to bring my vague ideas into focus. I couldn't have come across better professional help.
