Relaxed Living in the Desert

Oiled Bronze combines with granite and tile in this desert bath.

Relaxed Living in the Desert Challenge:

Designing a retirement home that takes advantantage of the dramatic mountain views and encourages casual living.

Solution:

Upon entering this home, one is aware of the visual impact of simple geometic forms that provide the interior drama.  The mountain vista becomes the backdrop painting.  Space is divided into the entry that welcomes guests, “the gathering room” for conversation and TV watching, the intimate dining room and a kitchen central to all the living activities.  In each room, contrasting textures of natural stone, wood and tile are layered with metals, fabrics and subtle color.  Complexity of scale and depth of detail create a unique desert home.

What they're saying

Linda,

Thanks for the help -- the colors turned out great! I'm very happy with it. Also put in the lighting you suggested and again, it looks great!

Best, Cynthia
